Christopher Michael Foy was born on September 14, 1989 at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, CA., the first child to Michael Robert Foy and Judith Gayle Foy. He was a grandchild of Robert and Mary Foy (Seal Beach, CA), and first grandchild of Richard and Carol Banghart (Polson, MT). Chris grew up in Los Alamitos, and attended Hopkinson Elementary School, McAuliffe Middle School and Los Alamitos High School, graduating in 2007. He was a musician in multiple Los Alamitos elementary, middle and high school bands, ultimately with a focus on jazz guitar. In high school, he also developed an avid interest in journalism. He graduated from the USC Annenberg School of Journalism and Public Relations in 2011, with a B.A. in print and digital journalism. Chris was very excited to work as a newspaper reporter in Wyoming and northern California, and put his heart and soul in many of his articles. More recently, Chris attended California State University Long Beach to obtain his teaching certificate in English. Since then, he worked as a popular and dedicated junior and high school English teacher in southern California. Christopher greatly enjoyed family trips to Montana, where he fished, hiked and became a very proficient jet-ski rider on Flathead Lake, one of his all time, favorite activities. He adored his best friend and brother, Adrian. He had a gentle, generous heart, and was always eager to please everyone that he came to know. Even though Chris died much too young, we all feel especially blessed having been a part of his short life. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
