Corey will be so missed.  I just remember the many times we got to spend with him when he was little.  I loved him calling me Grandma "C'.  What an adorable little boy and the last time I saw him was at Steph's wedding and was so proud of what a good looking young man he turned out to be.  Michael and Joe kept me abreast of what was happening with Corey and I felt, I should get in there to see him, but it seems as though there was always something happening, encluding having surgery on the day of your funeral and I am soooo sorry.  I loved you little guy and still do.  I know you are no longer in pain and you have a new body as promised by our Lord. I met Corey in person just one time at an Angels game in the Spring of 2008. In that brief encounter, he inspired me with his courageousness, his positive attitude and childlike playfulness. Even while fighting his medical condition and being in a wheelchair during the game, he was full of life and appreciation for even the smallest of things like the birds flying onto the field  or a butterfly fluttering in the evening breeze. He had a perpetual smile on his face the entire game and I was so moved by his enthusiastic spirit and unwavering zeal for life. He really inspired me to look at life differently and to stop complaining about trivial things like traffic and where to park and to appreciate life. His heart so touched mine that I wrote him a song to thank him for the empowering lessons he taught me about life and perspective. It was very apparent at his service that his positive attitude and characteristic traits such as integrity, service to others and honor was respected and appreciated by family and friends and those that were also touched by him. My prayer is that Barbara, Steve and his family and friends can be comforted in some way knowing what an amazing legacy Corey left behind and that it will be a gift that myself and so many others will be able to open for as long as they live.

Corey bro this is Scott, I just wanted to say that we all love you and you will be deeply missed. Your spirit is one of a kind and I can only hope that I can be such an individual someday. I will see you again my friend. Say hello to Dimebag Darrell and Randy Rhoads for me;) Love you bro till we meet again. Rock in peace.

I didn't know Corey all that well but I did meet him and talk to him a few times back in high school. He was an amazing person and there isn't much I can say except I give his whole family my condolences. I heard what the cause was and the only thing I can think of now is at least he doesn't have to be in pain anymore. Corey will be forever loved and missed by all who knew him

Barb and Steve,it was a beautiful service.   I can say very honestly that I have never seen such an outpouring of love.  Corey was loved, he was honored, his fellow Seabee's in their blues, and it was great to see just how much and how people can show their feelings for someone.  At the service, and at the burial, people shared stories about him what a good person Corey was.    I feel priviliged to be a part of your celebration.   RIP Corey Mykel Bailey, you will be missed my family, friends, and your fellow shipmates the Seabees of CMBU303.   May God bless you.  Corey is still in your hearts, and I know he will remain there.

As you know with my heart transplant i prayed everyday that i would live through it. And at the same time i Prayed for Corey EVERYTIME...Praying he would have a miracle happen..sad as it is, it was not to be. Now we are left with the memories and the knowing Corey is in heaven and now looking after you and your family. From just the few stories i heard about Corey, i wished i could have meet Corey and known more about him. I never met you personally, however I learned all about you from your cousin Summer. I lost my sister Diane to brain cancer just a couple of years before you were diagnosed. I know how much Summer loved you and wanted to do everything she could to make you feel better. We walked together to raise funds for brain cancer research. A cure doesn't seem to be happening fast enough. You will be missed my many people. I know heaven will be a better place because you are there. I will keep your family in my prayers because I am sure losing you is not easy.

Corey, I love and miss you so much! I am so greatful for the memories I have of us growing up. I will forever remember you. Steve, Barb, Steph, & family, you should feel so blessed to have had such a wonderful person in your lives for as long as you did, and I know you do. Corey was one of the crew in my Seabee unit.  My contact with Corey was brief but from my perspective and those of my fellow Chief Petty Officers, he was the ideal  "Worker Bee".  Always doing his job, keeping up with his quals and requirements.  His "CAN DO"  attitude was evident in his work and in his fight against cancer. He will be missed here on earth but God's Golden Chariot is in need of someone of Corey's special talents.  He will serve our Lord with that same "CAN DO" attitude.

As you know Barbara, I have never met you or Corey, but I feel like I know you both through FB for the last year. I can't tell you how sorry I am to hear of his passing. I know he was ill for a while, but I don't think anything can prepare you for the loss of your child. I can not imagine how you are feeling at this time, but remember that Corey is still in the hearts of everyone who knew him, or knew of him. Remember also that he was blessed to have you as his Mother. I could tell from all your post how much you loved your son, and how proud of him you were. I know Corey knew that also. I knew Corey from the Westminster 2nd Ward. He was a few years younger than me. We passed the sacrament together. We were in young men's/scouts together. We called him "Corn Dog" and he didn't mind. He loved being included with the rest of the boys. He always made people smile and he never meant anyone any harm. He always had a smile on his face everytime I saw him. He was a sweet kid. A good kid with a great heart. I haven't seen Corey since 2000 but the memories I have of him are nothing short of great. I'm still shocked that he's no longer with us. He was taken way too soon but I know he's in a far better place with our Heavenly Father. Now, he's making our Heavenly Father laugh the same way he used to make us laugh. My heart and sympathy goes out to Barbara and Steve and the whole Bailey family. Please know that you raised a great son. I'm proud to have had the opportunity to grow with and know Corey.

Barbara and family I am truly sorry for your loss. My father passed from lung cancer when I was 15. I know how hard it is to watch some suffer through that and to say that "at least he is at peace now" doesn't really mean anything right now, but it will someday. I know we don't really know eachother except through FB but one thing that was always so evident was how much you truly loved your son and how much he loved you. I can't even begin to fathom what you are going thru but please know my heart and prayers are with you and if there is anything I can do for you please let me know.
