Don and Abbe have been friends for many years.  I first met Abbe when she moved to Tennessee and I joined a Bible study that she was in.  Don stayed in California to sell the house and handle the details there.  It was such a relief and joy when he headed our way and joined the Bible study.  Don's compassionate heart and love of God shined through him.  He loved his family and thoroughly enjoyed life and his friends.  He never complained; instead he looked for solutions.  I loved him dearly.  Even when they moved an hour away, they faithfully attended Bible study and never failed to show up with smiles and encouragement for the others.  My life has been richly rewarded through the relationship with Don and Abbe.  There is a hole and I miss him terribly but I am celebrating that he is with Jesus.  My heart is with Abbe and her family.  I love you and am honored to be called your friend and fellow Christ follower.   May the peace of our Lord be with you and may His face shine upon you.

My brother Don. Your faith in Jesus was very encouraging me and your friendship was a gift from God. You were there for me at Nissan when we worked those 12 hour shifts for weeks at a time. Enjoyed many lunches after Church with the four of us. Will NEVER forget the Love both you and Abbe showed me when my beloved passed away. Thank you! Going to miss you my friend, but I will be seeing you again in our eternal life together with our Lord Jesus Christ! AMEN!

I will always be grateful for the friendship with Don. He and Abbe always showed me what friendship was truly about. He will be missed, but I know he is in the arms of Jesus.

I smile when I think of Cousin Don because he was truly such a fine person of high character.  He was so loved by his wonderful parents, Fred and June.  I have memories of Don that reach back to when he was born.  He was such a cute kid.  He seemed to be always happy and to enjoy everyone.  He was especially happy when he met and married his beautiful Abbe.  Then he shared how much joy he felt with his sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren.  It is wonderful that Don was able to enjoy such a wonderful life.  He had so many admirable qualities: care, compassion, kindness, friendship...He spoke strongly of his faith in God and the importance of the Christian life.  While his passing is cause for our sadness, we can be sure that he is experiencing joy in heaven.      Love and Sympathy from Helen

In the short time we knew Don, we had just really began  to see what a fine person Don was and a person fun to be around.  

 We are so sad for the family’s loss of Don in their life here on earth.  But we do rejoice that Don is in a wonderful place now and they can be reunited one day in Heaven.  

We hold you tightly in our thoughts and our prayers .

Don was one of the first people I met at Viking freight from another service center other then Bakersfield drivers. Then year’s later we both ended up in Salinas ca that’s when the friendship began. After years of being friends than Don & Abby became family. They say you can’t pick family but in this case I did. Don is my brother and will always be with me. Until we meet again my brother happy ridding. 

I met Don and the Smith’s Food and Drug Distribution center. He was one of the many new drivers when we opened the larger distribution. Don was a good guy you could sit and talk with or if there was work let’s get it done. Don always called me Davey when everyone else called me David. Davey let’s get going. We had a birthday pool party and the house and Don  & Abby came over. There was also a children’s face painter there and Don said that’s interesting and jumped in and had his face painted like a rabbit. Well painted up with whiskers and eyebrows drinking a beer was quite a hoot and we all had a great time. Don were going to miss you but one day we will all get together again hi five and tell stories of the past and laugh. Don DeLong here is a tearful Yea Buddy Salute to You and may we always keep the good memories of You in our hart.

Don is my cousin so I have a lifetime of warm memories. Don was kind, loving, caring and just a wonderful  man!  He had the love of Jesus that he reflected to the world around him.  His love for family was first in his life after his faith in God.  I have wonderful memories of his kindness. When he talked to you , you had his full attention. ….he would look deep into your eyes with his caring heart. Love to the family …we will see Don again-Lois Jean♥️🌹🌷
