

Earl passed away peacefully on November 6, 2015. He is best remembered by his black cowboy hat and his passion for guitars and family. You always knew it was Earl under that hat. Earl was predeceased by Lucille, his wife of 50 plus years, in 2009. Born in the early 20’s in Indiana, Earl grew up in Farmer City, Illinois. He then joined the CCC and then the Navy in 1940, serving on aircraft carriers, PBY Flying Boats, and left the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer in 1951.
He loved his hobbies of music, making his own guitars, aviation, and photography.
For the past 40 years, he was an Electronics Designer for the Aerospace Industry. He was involved with Cape Canaveral’s first missile shots in Florida, then moved to Los Angeles and worked for RCA, Sperry, and Northrop. His last assignment was the B-2 Spirit.
Earl is survived by his two sons, Robert and Terry.
