EDNA IRENE KIRBY - Obituary

Edna Irene Kirby was born to John Lewis and Frances (Howes) Swanson on February 12, 1934. 
She was married to Sterling D. Kirby, a wonderful man and loving partner on April 7, 1984. 
Edna had two daughters, twins: Sherrilyn and Terrilyn. She enjoyed them for 69 years.

 Edna started her career at Sherwin Williams Paint Co. working in their test lab; then moved on to the University of Chicago’s International House as their switchboard operator & cashier for approx. 10 years. After retiring from the University, Edna & Kirby (as he was known) relocated to Anaheim, California to be closer to their family. They were hired to manage the Normandy Park Apartment complex which they did for 20 years. After retiring again, they moved into their lovely home in Sunkist Gardens Park in Anaheim.

Edna’s favorite things to do were:  Watching her grandkids grow and being an influential part of their lives (Melissa, Johnny, Heather, Shannon), Enjoying time with friends, Baking, Traveling, Watching baseball & football games, Decorating her house, Going to Coffee with friends, Sending out cards (lots of them), Listening to music and Supporting charities.

Edna had a big heart, was loved by all and was a tremendous influence on many lives !!
The most important things to her were not things, only people !!
She is survived by three daughters, one son, their spouses, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. 
Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husband; Floyd, brother; Arthur, brother; Lawrence Howes, uncle; Marie (Swanson) Orton, Aunt; Emil Swanson, uncle; Hance Swanson, uncle.

I miss you everyday. It’s raining here now. That’s the angels crying.
Everyone knows that you were always well read & that when they were having a conversation with you, you know what you are talking about. 
You are generous with your knowledge, praise & always helped in anyway possible. You taught me that everyone has a choice.
 We are so much better for having you in our hearts but so much sadder at the same time. 
You & Kirby were the best.
