Edward Dudley Royce

He served on the Stanton City Council from 2005 to 2012 and on the Board of the Municipal Water District of Orange County from 1999 to 2012. He also served on the Board of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.

A veteran of WW II, Edward D. Royce served at the age of 19 in General Patton's Third Army, serving in the campaigns in the Normandy Hedgerow country, Northern France, the Rhineland, and Central Europe. He was honored in 2013 with the Simon Wiesenthal Distinguished Service Award for his service in the war to defeat Nazi Germany. The photographs he took of the corpses at the Dachau Concentration Camp have long served as rebuttal to Holocaust deniers.

He was born in Los Angeles on February 10, 1925 to Edward Dudley Royce and Jeannette Brinks, and graduated from Dorsey High School. In 1953, he graduated from the University of Southern California, Magna Cum Laude, with a degree in Industrial Management.

Friends and family knew him as an avid sailor, camper, and fisherman.

He leaves behind his son, Ed Royce and his wife Marie; his daughter Jennifer Winberg and granddaughter Katherine; daughter-in-law Irene Klein; grandson Chris Klein and his wife Amanda; and granddaughter Nita Rodriguez and her husband Victor.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm in the Main Chapel at Westminster Memorial Park Mortuary. A Celebration of Ed's Life will take place Friday, November 8, 2019 at 10:00 am at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library, 18001 Yorba Linda Boulevard, Yorba Linda, CA 92886, (714) 993-5075.
