Emma Lou Pierce

Mrs. Emma Lou (Barrow) Pierce passed away in her home in Huntington Beach, California on October 5, 2021. She was born in Chelsea, Oklahoma, April 30, 1925 to Gladys C. (Poole) Barrow of Chelsea and Raymond F. Barrow of Weir, Kansas.

Emma Lou was reared in many cities in the mid-west due to her father's business. She and her family eventually moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and there she attended Will Rogers High School. She graduated from Tulsa University with a major in Art and was a member of the Chi Omega chapter there.

While at Tulsa University, she met and married Albert Reynolds Pierce from Tulsa who preceded her in death. They were married over fifty years and had a wonderful life together. The raised two children: Juanita Sue (Pierce) Augustus of Houston, Texas and Bradford Reynolds Pierce of Huntington Beach, California.

Emma Lou loved traveling and playing golf and bridge. She especially loved cruising and visited almost every conceivable country around the world.

She leaves behind her daughter Nita and her son, her son Brad and his wife Becky. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Christian Barrow Augustus (Faith) of Park City, Utah, Scott David Augustus of Austin, Texas, Eric Reynolds Pierce (Michelle) of Milano, Texas, Michelle Renee Pierce of Huntington Beach, California and Stephanie Marine Holdridge (Jarett) of Huntington Beach, California. She leaves six great-grandchildren; Emory and Eli of Park City, Darion and Erin of Milano and Adriana and Gavin of Huntington Beach.

Emma Lou loved her family and was generous and kind to all.

The family wishes to thank Leisure Care and Cadence Hospital both of whom were so dedicated to making her last days comfortable.

There will only be a family memorial service in Phoenix , Arizona where she will be laid to rest.
