It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gloria Greene Sullivan on December 23, 2024, at the age of 94. Gloria was born on August 22, 1930, in Aloha, Oregon, and lived a full and meaningful life, dedicated to her family, her career, and the things she loved.
Gloria was a graduate of Beaverton High School and Pacific University, where she cultivated her passion for learning. In Washington, D.C., she met the love of her life, Joseph Paul Sullivan, and together they raised five children: Kevin, Shawn, Neal, Pat, and Colleen. Gloria was a devoted mother who not only cared for her children but also nurtured and guided them through the many stages of life. She worked tirelessly to provide for them, and her strength and love were a constant source of support for her family.
Gloria worked for five years at Dean Forwarding, Inc., before embarking on a 20-plus-year career at Golden West College, where she was a valued member of the college community. She was known for her quiet intelligence, dedication, and the care she put into everything she did.
Outside of work, Gloria had many interests that brought her joy. She enjoyed watching rugby, collecting spoons from her travels, and practicing embroidery. She was also an exceptional cook, and her meals were a source of comfort and connection for her family.
Gloria’s family will remember her as a loving, caring, quiet, and smart woman whose influence shaped their lives in countless ways. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph P. Sullivan. She is survived by her children: Kevin P. Sullivan, Shawn Sullivan, Neal J. Sullivan, Pat Sullivan, and Colleen Mila.
A graveside service will be held on January 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Garden of Reflections at Westminster Memorial Park.
Gloria will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, dedication, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of her family.
