*Harry*
Glen
He grew up on farms and worked harvests in the mid-west...
Harry was a "man's man"... As a youth he hunted, and loved to fish... He continued to love fishing into his old age... He and his brother Ben had taken the family car to go hunting, the shotgun went off and blew a hole through the roof of the Model T... Their Mother was not happy...
He married his first wife Grace in the early 30's... To support the family he drove trucks and hauled fruits and vegetables from South Texas, to Northern Idaho... They had 4 Children...
Harry Jr. (died in childhood)
Patricia Ann (Patty)
Jackie LaVaughn (Jack)
Charlotte (Charlotte)
They separated and divorced shortly after Charlotte was born in 1940...
When the war broke out in 1942 Harry joined the Navy... He quickly became a Chief Petty Officer and taught diesel mechanics till the end of the war... During that time he met his next life partner Lalah Mae (Pat)... They roamed the country together with her daughter Ramona Lee (destined to become Harry's 1st Stepdaughter) riding in the rear window of their 36' Ford Coup and landed wherever he was stationed until the end of the war...
After the war they settled in Long Beach California... Harry trained to be a Pipe Fitter and that ultimately became his life's trade... He married Lalah Mae (Pat) in the late 40's and they purchased a home in the Los Altos area of Long Beach... Then an accident happened... A CHILD IS BORN...
Michael Wayne (Mike)
We're up to 6 now...
Harry had a wonderfully successful career through the 50's and 60's... He worked for several different companies that specialized in what today is referred to as "common trench"... That's the trench that carries everything you need to live; water, sewer, and power, today it also carries cable, fiber optics etc... He was the VP and head estimator for two local companies that provided this part of the construction phase for projects like Huntington Harbor, Rancho Bernardo, Palomar Airport, the Vandenberg AFB launch pads, I believe half the golf courses in So Cal... The list is HUGE...
In the early 70's Harry's wife #2 (Pat) became ill with cancer, he retired to care for her and she passed away shortly afterward...
Enter wife #3 Lena Josephine (Lee)... Incidentally, while enjoying a drink with his best friend Keith Evans in a Beer Garden in Cleveland Ohio in 1943 Dad made Lee's acquaintance... They began dating in 1975 and we're married in July of 1977... 38 years together...!
New family... 5 Stepchildren...

Lifetime #4, what a rare miracle to be starting over with a new developing family at this stage in your life, especially with 5 cool new kids... Lee purchased a home in San Juan Capistrano and they moved in together...
Thunderbirds and motor homes... Harry loved cars, and was always ready for a "road trip"...! On the road once again, they both enjoyed traveling, Harry had several motor homes through their years together and they traveled though nearly every state in this great country... Lee's unique talent for making friends had brought many new people and relationships into Harry's life, most of them he has outlived, ah the bittersweet part of growing as old as he was fortunate enough to do...
One of his favorite places... Lone Pine California... He and Lee made a trek there twice a year to go fishing, sometimes with the family, sometimes not, for probably 20 of Harry and Lee's 38 years together... Possibly some his fondest memories with his families...
And talking about families... Another great love of Harry's... All the children...! The Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great Great Grandchildren... Far far too many to count, only "Lee" would know...
When at home in San Juan, Harry could be found more often than not, in his garage, puttering with the car or trying to make something work that probably should not have been made to work again... Or in his garden, building a new planter, or painting some sort of yard art, a Gnome, or a cement Squirrel... Harry loved to be outside... He also had a passion for reading, his favorite author, Louis Lamore, Harry was always up for a Western...
Yes...! We see him now... Riding off into the Sunset...! Bye for now Harry, we'll be seeing YOU on the otherside... You Bet-cha...!
