Sorry for your loss. Jack was the best. I have so many fond memories of all the fishing and hunting I was able to do with him.

Having gone thru the hospice experience with Dennis and my Dad, we learned that Hospice employees are just angels on earth... awesome people. I know its a personal choice, but if I had to do it all over again, i would be there with them again. Its hard to see a loved one go thru so much, but it felt right (for me) to be there. We will pray for strength for everyone.... love to you all,

I was sad to hear of you dad's passing but so glad you were there. I know it must have been comforting to him to have you and your family with him. I didn't know him, obviously, but I know he was a wonderful man. He had to have been to raise such a lovely daughter. Love you,

Enjoyed working with both of them during my sons participation in Troop 1.  Your dad was a big part in assisting them to achieve their Eagle. One of the best times in my life was the year i spent with Jack and Madeline in Germany in the 50's, a time i will never forget.
Even though we haven't been together since Mexico, his passing leaves a big hole in my life.

We also loved fishing the local waters on the Madjack every Wednesday catching a variety of fish. Dad had his secret spot where we would catch salmon grouper, nice size ling cod and giant squid which is Justin's favorite to catch. It's tuff loosing my fishing buddy, hunting partner, and best friend all in one! Dad and Mom were married 57 years. They both did a great job raising us kids. That's what makes us such a strong tight net family, very close family. You are awesome Dad! We will all miss you. Love you Dad!

In Dad's spare time he loved building his radio controlled airplanes, wrapped his own fishing poles and reloaded our own bullets for hunting. Dad, Mom & I would get up early go hunting, after brunch we'd go fishing on the Klamath River for Salmon, and then we would go hunting again in the evening. I will always have fond memories of the fun and experiences we had at R-Ranch.

He was involved as Boy Scout Leader when I was in the scouts. He taught me so much about camping, hiking, canoeing, dirt biking, rock climbing and surviving in the outdoors!

Dad was a kind, strong, tuff awesome man. He touched a lot of people. Dad's name Jack Ellis fit him very well. He was defiantly Jack of all trades. He could fix or build anything. I never seen a plumber or electrician at the house, Dad would fix it himself. I have to thank my dad, because if he wasn't so set on having a boy, I wouldn't be here today. As a kid he was always making me toys out of wood. I had my own airplane swing in the backyard. He also made me a go-kart made out of wood. Benny, Bobby and I played with that go-kart everyday. It lasted forever!

One of the last things I remember is going to your class for model airplane building. That was a assume thing to learn. I had so much fun building and flying planes that I built. Even long after your class, I built planes with my kids, trying to get them interested in model airplane building. None of my kids got into it like I did, but I have you to thank for getting me started. I can also remember flying your big plane and smashing it to pieces and all you said was that how it goes. I ever remember your old radio call numbers I think=KKX-8216. These are a few of many of my memories of Jack. I was lucky to have you next door to me! Thanks for everything!

Another memory is showing me how to cook corn in a pile of hot coals using mud t pack around the corn. That was some good corn with out using foil. Another outdoor trick.

Another memory was picking dandelion leaves all over the yard. Jack knew I loved spinach, so he showed me how to make spinach from weeds. I have shared this with my kids & grandkids and this must be the reason I've read lots of books on surviving in the wilderness with no food. I could live for a long time with the knowledge I've gained from these books. This is because of the time you spent teaching me.

Your family played a big part in molding this young little boy who lived next to you during his very young years. It was almost like having 2 sets of parent's. One set I lived with, the other set was having fun playing and learning. My first memory is how Jack helped me with my speech problem. Yes that's right; I had a bad problem stuttering when I was about 3 to 4 years old. The Ellis's house was my favorite place to visit. Jack was always outside when he wasn't working. So I would go over and see if I could help Jack do what ever he was doing. When I started to stutter, Jack would stop me and say no stuttering. I couldn't talk to him if I was going to stutter. I think it only took a day or 2 before I was cured of stuttering.

Dad was involved in the Fishing Derby at Carr Park in Huntington Beach every year since 1991. This was a fishing derby for Handycap Kids and Dad loved helping them fish. I loved my Uncle Jack so much! He was fun, caring, smart, creative, protective, and inclusive. Anyone who knew him, knew that they had a dedicated friend for life. He saved my life on more than one occasion and taught me so many things. I know the many ways he touched my life and hearing about the wide circle of influence he had on others' lives doesn't surpise me at all. He will be missed and remembered by so many. I have SO many wonderful memories of my Uncle Jack.  From clamming on the beach to watching him fire his mini cannon from Nana & Papa's front porch on the 4th of July to the many summers at Lake Havasu. My memories of you will live on, thank you for the influence you've had on my life.

From the time I can remember, Jack was always part of my family. I remember how many 4th of July Parades he would come and help Dad save seats along the route! Such fun memories. He'll not be forgotten.

We the Crow family, have been so blessed to be a part of your life for aover 50 years. I remember when Brianna was about 4 yrs old, and Jack walked her through the backyard to see the koi pond.  It was so cute to watch.  Jack was a quiet man, but a very strong influence on so many. We learned a lot from Jack.  He was the one who taught us how to repair broken ceramics with canned milk.  Vacations to "The River" are favorite memories.  Dune buggies at Uncle Roland's provided great adventures for our girls.

Jack you will be forever in my heart and many others. I feel so blessed you and your family were in our lives. You are the closes thing we had to a dad in our lives. May god wrap his loving arms around your wonderful family. I love you all so very much. I wish i could be there for you all, but know my love and heart is.
