Jim,we remember riding in the back seat of your Dually on the way to Bakersfield drags thumping or heads on the back seat as we are trying to sleep,all the while you were still telling stories.I always remember strapping you in the dragster,making sure you were safe.We will miss you!

Jim was an instrument in my life, basically in my childhood. He taught me how to get in lots of trouble, which we did quite well and very often! I really love those memories.
I have loved him forever and forever I always will!!!

Our thoughts and prayers are with Sue and the family. Jim was a very nice and kind man and it was an honor to know him. He will be truly missed by many.


There are so many memories of Jim and the things we did in school from the football team, to building go karts in his dad's garage, to working on and racing cars on the streets of Anaheim, to reconnecting with him two years ago and reminising over old times. Those are great memories. 

When we came out for the class reunion Jim admonished me for renting a car, he said on the next trip to call, he would pick us up and we could use his vehicle since he had two and could only drive one at a time. This was vintage Jim!

As long as we keep memories fresh no one is "gone" as they are in our hearts and thoughts forever!

I will forever be thankful for the friendship and memories of Jim and will miss his presence tremendously.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Sue and family as they celebrate Jim's life today.

I am blessed to have known Jim as a friend and mentor for the past 35 years. Jim was extremely knowledgable as a mechanic and fabricator. There was nothing he could not build of fix. I had the oportunity to work with Jim for many years and I will never forget his funny "one liners" and his tremendous sense of humor. 
Sue, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. We pray that God will lift your hearts and spirit.
Jim my friend, your work here is done  but your spirit lives on. I will always cherish our friendship and will miss you forever.

I remember as my mom called called it "Drake Day" when all the Drakes got together and had a picnic. We made some wonderful memories. We will miss you Jimmy! Bennie and Arlenna Theising, Fillmore, CA.

"Jimmy", as known by Velma, was a light-hearted, caring individual.  His laughter and teasing warmed all, and lightened Velma's house when he came for a visit.

Thank you, Jimmy, for you were the only one to tell tales of my husband's (Mel) youthful events and pranks you pulled on him when he was quite young.  Mel always enjoyed hanging with his older cousins and to this day we still recount the story of "who actually lit the dairy field on fire, leaving Mel to take the blame (ahem!)" and other funny tales. He loved sharing family history with Aunt Velma, and visited often.  I'll always recount his stories with laughter and love.  Jimmy, you will be sadly missed at future family gatherings, but I know your spirit will  be there sending your love as we re-tell your funny tales of past youth. May you and your Dad, Ernie, ride the skyways in your Indian motorcycles and race cars happily ever after.

Jim was my hero.  My big cousin in the navy uniform who slept in the room with the player piano.  I remember sitting in his race car, and Aunt Lib taking my picture.  What a blessing it was to reconnect and spend time with him and his wonderful family at the 7D Ranch.  He so wanted to keep our family connected!
