At the age of 18, John enlisted in the Army and served nearly 2 years.
Shortly after that, in November of 1948,John went to work for Sears. He worked for the Sears Service center for 35 years, retiring as a service supervisor in 1983.
Going to "swap meets" and tinkering in his garage were some of John's favorite past times during his retirement.
He passed away on Sept. 11, 2013 after a short illness. John is survived by 4 of his siblings; his 3 children - Johnny, Pam and Patti; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grand children.
He will be missed greatly by all of them.
