Louisa "Al" H. Medina

As a young child, she moved with her family to Westminster, CA, where she was part of the last segregated class at Hoover Elementary School. She later graduated from Huntington Beach High School and went on to attend Orange Coast College, where she earned her nursing certification.

She began her nursing career at St Joseph Hospital in Orange, dedicating herself to caring for others. After marrying the love of her life, Paul, in 1959, whom she had known since childhood, she chose to devote herself fully to her family. She lovingly cared for her husband, six children as well as her parents and sister, always placing others before herself.

She is survived by her 4 daughters, Rita Segovia, Linda Medina, Irene Garcia and Angela Sangenito, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, and one grandson-in-law. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, daughter, Carmen and son, Raymond. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched with her kindness and compassion.

She found joy in sewing and quilting, working on word search puzzles, watching sports on tv and tending to her garden. Above all, she will be remembered as a caring, nurturing and empathetic woman with a deep and abiding faith.

Her life was a reflection of her faith, expressed through love, service and quiet strength. We take comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of the Lord, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who knew her.

A visitation will be held at Westminster Memorial Park Mortuary, Main Chapel, 14801 Beach Blvd, Westminster, CA 92683, US, on April 23, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A funeral service will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 14072 Olive St, Westminster, CA 92683, US, on April 24, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.

A committal service will be held at Good Shepherd Cemetery, 8301 Talbert Ave, Huntington Beach, CA 92646, US, on April 24, 2026, from 1:15 pm to 2:00 pm.
