M. Joyce Peterson

M. Joyce Peterson entered this world May 7, 1935 in Moline, Illinois, the first born child of Walter Arthur and Elsie Marie Miller. She passed June 6, 2014 to rejoin her husband, Pastor David Lee Peterson, with whom she enjoyed 54 years of marriage on earth.

together they built a loving family, lead congregations and shared the joy of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ with everyone they knew. They lived for 25 years in Woodstock, Illinois, where they started and nurtured the Woodstock Assembly of God Church. They then moved to Westminster, California where they were called serve Christ Church of Westminster and the Westminster Christian School.

Joyce loved to worship, garden, sew, bake and spend time with the many people she cared so much about. She leaves behind three children: Richard Lee Peterson (Sheri) of Layton, Utah: Paul Cotton Peterson (Keith) of Manassas, Virginia: and Cheryl Lynne Dixon of Wellington, Kansas: as well as 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and countless friends. She also is survived by her cherished sister, Eleanor Nelson of Moline, Illinois, and was preceded in death by her brother, Walter Miller Jr., and sister, Edith Wright.
