

Margaret was born in Solvay, New York on October 3, 1935 to Alfred Eugene and Carmella Valletta Branca. Margaret was the first of five children. Margaret and her siblings in the order of their birth are Margaret, Rosemary, Lois, Fred, and Al. After graduating from St. John The Baptist Academy, Margaret received her Associates Degree in Business Administration from the Central City Business Institute in Syracuse, NY and was a recognized honor student making the cover of the school’s news publication.
Margaret and Frank met on a blind date set up by their dear friends Rosemarie Curinga and Donald DeSantis on February 12, 1956. Margaret and Frank had a long-distance relationship for two years while Frank served in the U.S. Army, and were married on September 27, 1958, and were blessed with four beautiful, loving children, Teresa Marie, Francis John, Jr., Lisa Marie and Cari Marie. Margaret worked in banking for many years rising to the position of Operations Manager. In 1979 Margaret and Frank and their four children moved to Huntington Beach, California. Margaret worked in accounting for 42 years and recently retired from her position as The Director of Finance for The Core Group.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Francis John "Frank" Luongo, Sr. and sister Rosemary E. DeLucia. She is survived by her daughter Teresa Marie Fernando (son-in-law Stephen M. “Steve” Fernando, Sr.); son Francis John "Frank" Luongo, Jr. (daughter-in-law Roberta B. “Robbie” Luongo); daughter Lisa Marie Luongo; daughter Cari Marie Luongo; grandchildren, Stephen M. “Stevie” Fernando, Jr. (granddaughter-in-law Allison M. “Allie” Fernando); Danielle “Dani” Fernando; Sarah M. Luongo (grandson-in-law Ryan K. Logan); and Francis J. "Frankie" Luongo, III; sister Lois J. Mercurio (brother-in-law Lucien “Lou” Mercurio); brothers, Frederick A. “Fred” Branca (sister-in-law Judith “Judy” Branca); Alfred T. “Al” Branca (sister-in-law Christine “Chris” Branca); and brother-in-law Michael F. “Mike” DeLucia.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Westminster Memorial Park Mortuary in the Carolina Chapel, 14801 Beach Blvd., Westminster, CA.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, 20444 Magnolia St., Huntington Beach, CA with interment following at Westminster Memorial Park.
Margaret’s heart was heavy for vulnerable children, therefore we graciously ask that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (link provided below for convenience)
