Maureen Rule, age 82, of Huntington Beach, California passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2020.

In Loving Memory

Maureen Rule was born June 21, 1938 in Liverpool, England. She came from humble beginnings during a time when the world was in turmoil with World War II. She attended college and worked for the Cunard Line. She met our dad at a dance hall and married a year later. They soon had five kids and wanted to secure a promising future for them so they immigrated to the US. They brokenheartedly left their huge close-knit family behind. She did this at the age of 30 with five kids all aged 7 and under. Our parents worked multiple jobs to save for and experience the American dream, which they did tenfold. After moving to Long Beach, California, she got a job working for Student Services at CSULB. She was a fantastic mom to all of her kids and an even more amazing Nana to her thirteen wonderful grandkids. She and our dad were married for 55 years. She enjoyed family time and family vacations more than anything. Faith and Family were everything to her and she was a role model to all who met her. She will be sadly missed by so many.

Nana,

Words cannot express what you meant to me nor how my heart breaks that you are no longer with us. I still cannot fathom not hearing your lovely voice saying, "Hi love." It is a voice I will never forget. I will forever miss you, but I know I have gained another guardian angel. You have always been there for me and I am so thankful. You and grandad taught me more than you could imagine. Among the many things you have taught me is the importance of family, kindness and love. Through your love and compassion towards all others, you have set such a great example of how to find true happiness. Thank you again for being the worlds best Nana that a girl could ask for. Love and miss you everyday... Goodnight, God Bless Nana xxx Love your Flossy

My Brothers and Sisters know we are the luckiest kids to have had the greatest Mom in the world and my Dad obviously knew that when he first laid eyes on her on that dance floor in Liverpool. I can easily write a book about her. She was that great. I miss her so much.

My Mom was the grandkids' biggest fan and I know she made each of them feel like the favorite. Because they were. She had an incredible relationship with each and everyone of them.

After my Dad passed away, my mom resolved to continue to support all the grandkids.  They were her world.  She attended all their events and activities.
It is because of her avid support that so many people have shared with us their respect and admiration for the relationship she had with them.
Nana was so proud of Morgan, Lauren, Taylor, Tyler, Julian, Matthew, Alex, Caden, Evan, Gillian, Sammy, Kyle and Lindsay.

My Mom did share that she had a great life with family and friends, but it was her grandkids that gave her strength and meaning. She and Grandad were so happy to see what wonderful human beings they all turned out to be.

She knows they will all accomplish great things in life so never forget what Nana alway said,

“When the chips are down, you just get on with it."

Give Dad a great big hug from me. We love you Mom.

Mom,
Thanks for everything, especially the memories. I already miss you so much. I’m so sorry you didn’t get more time, there was still more to do... vacations, weddings and family fun.

I’m thankful you are with dad now and at peace watching over us all. You and dad were a big part of my daily life and I’m so grateful for that.

You both taught my boys that family is everything the way you centered your life around us all. You treated Matt like your own and I was so blessed to have you and Dad.

Love you Mom!
