

Mildred attended Maui High School and later married her beloved husband, Richard Hanaoka. She worked for many years in the credit department at Broadway Department Store, where she was known for her diligence and reliability.
Mildred will be remembered for her caring nature, her remarkable organization, and the pride she took in keeping her home and surroundings neat and beautiful. She had a special love for cooking and gardening, and she found great joy in tending to her garden. She also enjoyed visiting the casino and playing the slot machines.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Hanaoka; her parents, Sakugoro and Takeyo Kanno; her sisters, Harriet Kasai and Haruyo Kanno; and her nephews, Terry Baylon and Jeremy Kanno.
Mildred is survived by her sister, Rose Baylon; her brother, James Kanno; and her nieces and nephews, Micki Baylon-Hatashita, Lynn Ito, Guy Kasai, Jason Ito, Aysia Guzman and family, Billy Hatashita, Eddie Hatashita, Melissa Arvizu and family, and Trevor Kasai.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Westminster Memorial Park Main Chapel.
Mildred will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all who knew her.
