Lynn Mueller 76, a resident of Stanton, California, graduated to her heavenly home Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Hoag Hospital, Newport Beach, following a year of multiple strokes and extreme pain. She was born Nina Lynn Reel on June 28, 1948, in Long Beach, California, the daughter of Bobby J. Reel and Nina V. VanDalsen Reel Ryder. In 1970 Lynn married Larry D. Mueller in Fountain Valley, California.
Lynn was a marvelous cook and was known for her pot roasts and comforting casseroles, but variety was her greatest strength. She loved to bake and her Christmas cookies were the star of the holiday table. She was creative and loved to write short stories, paint, and craft Christmas ornaments and decorations. She was an avid reader and a fan of musicals, the Hollywood Bowl, and Hallmark movies. Before her limited mobility forced her to slow down she was active in church and women’s ministries.
She was a graduate of Vanguard University, Costa Mesa and became a teacher. She began as a substitute teacher, then later taught English as a second language to adults at Montebello Unified Adult Education and Santa Ana College. While teaching was her career, her first love was her family, leading and guiding them through life.
She is survived by her husband Larry, two daughters Elizabeth Marie Mueller and Diana Lynn Mueller, one grandson Nathaniel, and a host of cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and all her immediate Aunts and Uncles.
In lieu of flowers please contribute to Voice of China and Asia Missionary Society honoring Lynn. VOCA, PO Box 702015, Tulsa, OK 74170.
