Shirleen Kay Gunther

Services will be held at Westminster Memorial Park, Saturday September 12, 2015 at 9:30am. A gathering for family and friends will follow.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Shirley Hennings (Tuscaloosa, AL); and sisters, Kathi Gunderson (Fort Collins, CO); Maureen Hennings (Tuscaloosa, AL); and baby sister Marleen Doty.

She is survived by her husband, Roman Gunther; her oldest daughter, Evelyn “Lynn” Diaz; her son John Will II; her younger daughter, Amber T. “Mouse” Gunther; her mother-in-law Theresia Gunther; and her younger brother Rick Hennings (Rachel).

Other survivors include her five grandsons, John Will III, Austin Will, Jay Constancio, Joshua Constancio, and Hunter Will; nieces, Shirlee Montalbano, Julie Hennings, and Theresa Hennings; nephews, Randall Montalbano, Larry “Lars” Montalbano, DJ Montalbano, Christian Montalbano, Richard Hennings III, Timothy Hennings, Eddie Hawthorne and family, Tony Hawthorne and family, David Hawthorne and family, and the entire Gunther family.

Shirleen Gunther was one of a kind. She touched the lives of so many and left joy with every step she took. Her smile lit up the room and her blue eyes pierced the souls of everyone she met. She had an unparalleled passion for her family and friends and is described as “one of the best people we have ever known.” She will forever be missed and loved and has now become the guardian angel of our hearts. Heaven truly gained an angel.
