Wayne was born on June 9, 1945, in Long Beach, California. At the age of two, his family moved to Huntington Beach, where he would spend the rest of his life and build deep roots in the community he loved. He attended Huntington Beach Central Elementary School and Huntington Beach High School. He spent a year at Orange Coast College, then filled a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in West Mexico.
He later attended Brigham Young University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. It was also during his time at BYU that a lifelong friendship blossomed into love. Wayne married his childhood friend, Candis Cornaby, on April 3, 1969. Together, they built a strong and loving marriage that spanned over five decades.
Wayne dedicated 40 years of his professional life to EDM Supplies, a specialty machine shop supply company. He began as a sales representative and, through hard work and dedication, rose to the position of General Sales Manager. He was respected for his integrity, leadership, and steady presence.
Above all, Wayne was a family man. He and Candis were blessed with six children—one daughter and five sons—and he found his greatest joy in spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his kindness, patience, and unwavering integrity, as well as his easygoing and caring nature.
Wayne had a special passion for vintage cars, particularly those from the 1950s. He had an impressive ability to identify the year, make, and model of nearly any classic car he saw. He and Candis also shared a love of travel and adventure, including exploring historic Route 66 together from Santa Monica, California, to Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Wayne was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Andrea Lynne Moffett; his father, Alvin Moffett; and his mother, Vernie (Short) Moffett.
He is survived by his loving wife, Candis Moffett; his sons, Darren, Ryan, Tyler, Evan, and Sean; his ten grandsons, Brandon, Andrew, Nathan, Camden, Shane, Ben, Jake, Brady, Hudson, and Dax; and his two granddaughters, Megan and Summer. His legacy of love, faith, and devotion to family will live on through all who knew him.
