

Mr. William T. Dao, 79, of Garden Grove, passed on the morning of June 8th, 2015 in Fountain Valley, California. William lived an amazing and interesting life, he was born January 3, 1936 in Thai Binh, Vietnam. His parents were Man Van Dao and Nhung Thi Tran. William married Nancy Lan Huong Nghiem on January 4, 1971. Before joining the army, William went to college to become a Math teacher and became fluent in French. He owned a school and taught Math until started his service in the South Vietnam army where he served as a captain from 1962 until 1975. After the Fall of Saigon in April 30, 1975, William served his time as a Prisoner of War for 6 years. William brought his Family to America on July 12 , 1990. While raising his four children, he also obtained a Bachelor’s of Finance from Cal State Long Beach in 1998. William enjoyed spending time with his wife and grandchildren and enjoying frequent family dinners. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. His strong and determined spirit, along with his optimistic attitude will continue to live on though his family. William and Nancy had a very strong, caring, and committed marriage. Nancy was the love of his life. His wife, children, and grandchildren were his life and his everything.
William is survived by his wife Nancy LanHuong Dao, daughters Monica Quynh Huong (Phong Nguyen) Dao, Christina Minhuyen (Andrew) Gustin, Elizabeth Diem Chau(Dallas) Norman-Dao, son Dr. Anh Tuan Dao, grandchildren Ethan, Adam, and Bill, his brother Binh Van Dao, and sister Nhuan Thi Dao.
A visitation will take place on Thursday, June 18, 2015 from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm in the Westminster Memorial Park Lakeside Chapel. Services will be held on Friday, June 19, 2015 from 8:00 to 11:00 am in the Westminster Memorial Park Lakeside Chapel.
