Melissa, Tanya and families, Eva and family, Wayne & Bev, Beau & Hayley and families, we are so very sorry to learn of Johnny's passing.  He was one in a million, and will never be forgotten!  There wasn't ever a time he wasn't smiling and sharing a great story and asking about our boys and my brothers!  He had a wonderful outlook on life, enjoying every minute.  Johnny, we will miss seeing you and hearing a story from way back in the day, and sharing a good ole laugh with you!  RIP, fly high and know we will meet up, again, one day, when we, too, are called home!  All our love to his much beloved family and closest friends!  You are all in our hearts and thoughts!

It was so sad to hear about Johnny's passing and we send our sincere thoughts and condolences to his family.
We worked together at PanCanadian, but I feel privileged to have known him as a friend, mentor and role model.  He lived each and every day to to the fullest and had an aura of positive energy around him wherever he went, whether he was going for a walk in Weyburn with a pocketful of ju-jubes, or ring-leading countless trips and adventures across the line to Fortuna, Crosby, Noonan and beyond.  JJ found a way to genuinely connect with everyone he met and it was inspiring to see how many lives he touched and how many friends he had around the world.

To Johnston family:  I am so sorry for your loss of Johnny.  He will be forever rembered by all who knew him & loved him.  When someone you love passes they become a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.

Johnny was one of the good guys...  Always smiling, joking, telling old stories.   We will have lots of fond memories sitting with him and Ron in the hangar, or at the farm,  and having a few cheers and lots of laughs.    Rest easy Johnny, you will be so very missed. With Johnny's passing, Southern Saskatchewan has lost a legend.

I had the privilege of working with Johnny at PanCanadian and EnCana in the late 1990's and early 2000's. Weyburn was one of my favourite places to visit, mainly because of JJ.  Had a few "train wrecks" with him at the Royal and even enjoyed a year with the Weyburn Flyers at the Calgary hockey tournament where Johnny was "coach".

I don't ever remember being with Johnny when he wasn't smiling and having fun.  He, I think, had a great run!

My cousin Johnny was 5 months younger than me and I've adored him since we were tots.  We visited each other (in Weyburn and Stratford) in recent years and talked on the phone quite often, most recently a few days before he left us.  We teased each other about our politics, argued, and laughed a lot.  "JJ" , as we called him, was  not only a good friend.  He was kind, generous, compassionate  and always willing to take the time to connect with other people.  He loved his family and enjoyed his friends -- everywhere.  While visiting me in Stratford, Ontario, my friends became his friends and his passing is mourned here too.  Our condolences to his family and thanks to Eva who brought him joy.

My condolences to Johnny’s family. Our memories go back over 60 years and you can’t help smiling with some of the things that were done. We weren’t only friends but worked  together in the CDR days. Whenever we travelled together our wives would worry what would happen until we arrived home. Mind you we had grown up a bit or at lest I had. (People who know me may not agree with the last statement.)
I have nothing but good memories when I think of my friend Johnny. He was good to people and well-liked by everyone.

Whenever we would see each other we would take a picture together and send it to Melissa.  Every time Johnny would always say “how do I look Tanny?” and I would say “like a million bucks Johnny!”  You could always count on a smile and a story whenever you saw him!  Rest in peace Johnny ❤️

My condolences to Johnny’s family. Johnny had a great sense of humor and so much love for family and friends. Cherish all the great memories of your time with him as I am sure there were many memories made. I will miss meeting him in Co-Op store always met you with that great smile and usually had something funny to say, I am sure his wife did all the shopping and Johnny circulated around visiting with everyone he met.
