I'm so sorry to hear of Danette's passing. Although I haven't seen her much since we finished high school in Bengough, I know from those 12 years in class together what a wonderful person she was and I remember her great smile and her genuine laugh. My sincere condolences to all of her family, especially Logan and Jordan, who my own daughter became friends with during our summer trips to visit Grandma and Grandpa. Rest in peace, my old friend!

I first met Danette when she moved to Grande Prairie. She moved in next-door to me and we soon became good friends. Her warm beautiful smile always brighten my day. She was such a beautiful person inside and out. The love she had for Jordan and Logan was evident in everything she did. She truly left A positive impact on my life. Sending love and warm thoughts your way during this difficult time.

Our farm is nearby Heather King, where Danette boarded her horse. Every time my daughters and I visited Heather, Danette was there helping Heather out with the ponies and willing to lend a hand or a fun story. She always worked tirelessly. We became friends. She even came by with treats for my kids on Halloween and was generous with her time.
One morning, on my way to work, a frantic neighbor called to let me know that Heather(and Danette)'s ponies had gotten out and were happily eating up her garden. So I gave Heather a call but unfortunately she was working in Grande Cache, so I called Danette. Danette quickly showed up, saddled a horse and bought the ponies home. She told me later that it took at least two hours to make the quarter mile trip because they made a detour to a tasty hay field. It was very difficult to herd them out of there!
We will miss Danette and wish she was still a part of our community here.

I am so sorry for your loss . Danette was a fabulous person and so much fun to be around. I met Danette through Heather King, where I boarded my horses. She mentioned that if anyone needed a lunch date or coffee, she was available. She was looking for new friends, so we had a lot of Timmies together. She was a neat person, full of charm and humor. Always up to help out anywhere she went, she connected with everyone she met. Whether fixing fences or riding horses, she always had a smile on her face and had the most contagious laugh. I will miss my friend, taken way to early from those who loved her, pets and humans alike.

I met Danette and Jordan shortly after their move to Grande Prairie when they were looking for a place to board their horses. Danette very quickly warmed her way into many hearts, and she was early on adopted by myself and siblings as our "sister from another mother".
Danette was more than a spark, she was a bright light, and a flame. She was a dark haired beauty gifted with a sharp mind, quick wit, and an old soul. Her compassion and her integrity made her a wonderful human being and a great friend.
Early on I admired her horsemanship and the connection she had with her prairie ponies, as she wondered out loud how her horses were going to adjust to riding through the bush. When Danette arrived she quickly fit in to the group of women who boarded horses at my place, and a lot of self-help conversations took place over the miles we travelled with our horses. Time with horses meant building and repairing fence, trimming hooves, grooming, groundwork and all hands on deck for a cool one in the summertime, while solving the problems of the universe. It was a very special community to have been apart of.
When Jordan returned to Saskatchewan, Danette became my neighbor in Bezanson, and so it was that I became even closer to my sister from another mother. We had a great workaholic bond, which kept us mostly out of doors and out of trouble, and I was happy to take over Jordan's duty at the Marble Slab Creamery for our guilty pleasure time. We also shared the treasure hunting addiction, which we regularly satiated at Value Village. Danette was amazing at dressing like a million bucks on a pauper's budget.
Jordan and Logan were the jewels of Danette's life. We are so grateful to have been able to share her with you, and our hearts are deeply grieving for your loss and ours. Love from Heather, Buffy, and the King Family.
