

Born to Roy and Elizabeth White, she grew up, the eldest of 12 siblings on the pioneer Mankota family farm. Her education was at the rural Jura School, Correspondence Courses, Mankota and Ogema High Schools, Moose Jaw Normal School, University of Sask. summer classes and later the United Church Training School in Toronto. She taught Grades one to ten at South Star, near Star City, then High School at Meyronne and Yellow Grass. Eleanor and Robert (Bob) McClinton were married in 1952, after Eleanor completed her course in Toronto, and Bob completed his degree in Agriculture. They settled on the McClinton Wildrose Registered Holstein and Grain Farm north of Yellow Grass. There they raised their three children, shared their home with others and shared much time within the community, and especially their local church, Yellow Grass United Church and the Church beyond the local area. From 1992 until 2016, Eleanor enjoyed living in the town of Yellow Grass, then moved into a Regina apartment in the Cathedral Village area, enjoying life at Davis Mews and as part of the Westminster United Church family.
Eleanor was predeceased by her husband Bob in 1999, 2 infant daughters at birth, her parents Roy White and Elizabeth (White) Rivers, her parents-in-law David and Margaret McClinton, 2 siblings Gilbert White and Helen Henderson; in-laws: Don Henderson, Marguerite and Gloria White, Jack Barker, Walter Murray, Isabel and Bud Thomas, Bill Irwin, Jean and Alex Scott, Betty and Cliff Forry, Fred McClinton, Don and Jean McClinton; stepdad/uncle Will Rivers; stepbrothers/cousins: Gordon Rivers and Gerald Knight; stepbrothers/cousins: Gordon Rivers and Gerald Knight.
She is survived by daughter Eileen (Ron) Elkington; sons Lorne (Suzanne) and Blair (Loretta); 4 grandchildren: Kim (Tyler)Wilson and children Vada Rose and Ari; Greg Elkington (Nicole) and Karsyn; Rob McClinton (Courtney) and their children Samuel and Rose; Zac McClinton (Melissa); 4 step grandchildren Candice Eberle (Aaron) and their children Bryden, Addison and Carter; Bradley Tempel; Charles-Etienne Ferland and Caroline Ferland; Rob and Zac’s mother Carla Murray (Steve Bird); Five brothers: Jim, Paul, Syd (Marlene), Richard (Eve) and Earl (Freda) White; four sisters: Milly Barker, June Murray, Doreen (Grant Macdonald), Priscilla (Bill) Rempel; two sisters-in-law: Marion White and Luella McClinton; step siblings/cousins, Mary Rivers, Carol Knight, Len Rivers (Gail), Marion Stewart (Dale) and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. from the Yellow Grass United~Lutheran Partnership Church, Yellow Grass, Saskatchewan with Reverend Carla Blakley & Judy Beck officiating. The virtual service may still be viewed at Fletcher Funeral Chapel Facebook Page. Interment took place at Yellow Grass Cemetery, Yellow Grass, Saskatchewan. Lunch followed at the Yellow Grass Communiplex.
