

Phyllis Scott, 81 Weyburn, SK died on Thursday, August 18, 2011 after a short battle with cancer.
Phyllis was born February 11, 1930 near Goodwater, SK, the daughter of Annie and Maurice Rose. She was raised and educated in the Goodwater area. After completing high school she attended Reliance School of Commerce in Regina and was then employed at Mutual Life of Canada from September 1947 to October 1948.
She returned to the Goodwater area and married Dale Scott on July 24, 1949. They resided on the family farm until 1956 when they moved into Goodwater where they remained until 1962 when they moved to Weyburn. Phyllis began work with Eaton’s of Canada after moving to Weyburn where she was employed until 1973 when she joined the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. She remained with the CIBC as a personal banking representative until her retirement in February 1990.
Phyllis was a member of Grace United Church in Weyburn, as well as the UCW, J.O.Y. and the Red Hat Society.
Phyllis enjoyed travelling and visited many locations throughout Canada, the United States and abroad such as England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Turkey, Greece and Malta. She most enjoyed having her family together for all special occasions and especially enjoyed spending time with her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Phyllis is survived by her three daughters, Carol (Bob) Wickstrom of Regina, SK, Brenda (Cal) Stewart of Moose Jaw, SK and Dena Scott (Shane Evans) of Lampman, SK; grandchildren, Jason (Cara) Wickstrom, Devin Wickstrom (Alana Sanders), Travis Patrick, Curtis Patrick (Jenna), Regan Patrick (Sarah), Logan Patrick, Britton Scott, Tanner Scott (Jaclyn), Blaine Bangsund, Lacey Bangsund (Ethan), Morgan Trush and Rylie Trush; great grandchildren, Monique Wickstrom, Makayla Wickstrom, Daemon Patrick, Sophie Wickstrom, Lily Wickstrom and Scott Wickstrom; sister in law, Hazel Rose of Weyburn, SK and daughter in law, Michelle Hough of Saskatoon, SK as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Phyllis was predeceased by her parents, Maurice and Annie Rose; husband, Dale Scott; brother, George Rose; sister, Edith Scott; 2 sons, Travis and Kevin Scott; nephew, Elton Scott; brother in law, Elon Scott and sister in law, Arda Kuiper.
A Funeral Service was held on Monday, August 22, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. from the Grace United Church, Weyburn, Saskatchewan with Rev. M. Barnabas officiating. Interment followed in Goodwater Cemetery, Goodwater, Saskatchewan.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in memory of Phyllis to Canadian Cancer Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Muscular Dystrophy Canada.
