Winona Gwendolyn (Gray) Temsland was born August 19, 1932 in Ceylon, SK to Laurel and Dorothy Gray. She was a sister to Kenneth, Ronald, Hazel, Beverly and Arvella. They were raised in Ceylon.
She married Edwin Temsland on November 26, 1949. They raised 4 children – Iver, Erwin, Brenda and Darrel. They lived on a small farm in Ceylon then moved to Rouleau where Edwin was a grain buyer and Winona was a homemaker. Following Edwin’s job they moved to Khedive and then Radville. Their love for the farming lifestyle had them relocate to Brooking where they both enjoyed the farm.
Winona loved to raise her chickens, pigs and cows and her children all while tending her large garden and driving the school bus. They retired into Radville where they enjoyed the company of many friends, one of her best friends being Verna Scott.
Winona was involved greatly in the community, helping with meals on wheels, the Radville Marion Home and United Church. She was an avid curler, golfer and card player. Winona had 7 grandchildren whom adored her. She was always willing to bake cookies or crawl on the floor to play. Many of Winona’s favourite times were spent at their cabin in Whitebear, a place she dearly loved. After Edwin’s passing in 2003 Winona decided to purchase a home in Weyburn.
She met Roy Anderson and loved and lived out the last 17 years by his side. They were active dancers and enjoyed the company of the other residents at Parkway Lodge. Winona was also blessed with 6 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Winona will be missed by all who knew her.
