Andrew "Andy" Louis Barnes was born July 12, 1955 in Denver, Colorado. The first born son of his parents George and Mary Jane "Mickey" Barnes. He spent his childhood in Lakewood, Colorado with his little sister Elizabeth and brothers Scott and Craig. He graduated from Bear Creek High School in 1973. In 1975 at the age of 20 Andy joined the United States Marine Corps to serve his country. He spent more than 5 years in the Marine Corps and was honorably retired in 1981. He returned to Colorado and in 1985 his only son Eric was born. Andy had a very special relationship with the Lord and a strong faith. He shared his faith with all who would listen. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, drinking an ice cold Coca-Cola and listening to country music. He was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle. He is preceded in Heaven by his father George Barnes. He is survived by his mother Mickey Barnes, his son Eric and daughter-in-law Brittney, his grandchildren Kaelynn, Kylie and Graham, his sister Elizabeth, brothers Scott and Craig and his many nieces and nephews.
Andy's services will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Olinger Crown Hill, Pavilion of Reflection. He will be placed in a crypt at Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery where his service to his country will be recognized by the US Marines rendering military honors.
