Andrew James “Andy” was born in Denver on May 26, 1933 to Neil and Clare Horan (ne`e Conley) and passed away on August 19, 2023 in Denver. Andy is preceded in death by his wife, Donna; his parents; brother, Joe, and sister, Kathleen. He is survived by sons, Joe (Jena) Horan and their children Jackson and Jamison, Jim (Yvonne) Horan, Andy (Diane) Horan and his children Paige and Anna, and daughter, Mary Horan. He is also survived by his sister Nan (Bob) McNamara and numerous nieces and nephews.
A proud lifelong Denverite, Andy spent the majority of his working career in the mortgage industry retiring in 2000 as a Vice President of Universal Lending.
One of his proudest accomplishments was his association with Alcoholics Anonymous where he mentored, sponsored, and spoke about his experience. He made many friends along the way. He passed away with sixty-one years of sobriety.
Andy grew up and also raised his family in the same house located in the Congress Park neighborhood of Denver. Andy loved history, reading, and having a nice day driving through the mountains. His children loved learning about his family history and genealogy including the relatives still in Ireland. He also enjoyed visits from his family to talk about the old neighborhood, the Denver Broncos, Their Irish ancestry and was always up to going out for good Mexican food, his favorite. He was a kind, friendly soul with a warm smile and a happy laugh. He will be missed by many.
