

Arlene “Lee” Marie Regensburger passed away on March 25, 2026 in Denver, CO. She was 90 years old. Lee is survived by her two sons Vohn (Carla) and Derek (Jennifer), her grandchildren, Andrew and Harrison Regensburger, and her two brothers, Richard and Scott Bruno. Lee was born in Springfield, MA on December 26, 1935, the second oldest of five children. She grew up in Waterbury, CT, attending St. Margaret’s School. She graduated from Penn Hall in 1955 with her Associate of Arts in Art History.
Lee moved to New York City in 1955 to become a professional ballet dancer. While there, she married Jack Regensburger in 1959 and stayed married for 59 years until Jack’s death in 2017. The couple moved to Denver in 1965. Lee continued to dance, performing with the Colorado Ballet, and taught students from her home. Her forte was teaching basic body placement and discipline to young students. She became a key figure at Ballet Denver, a new studio in the area, for over 50 years, performing and choreographing countless performances. She also served a distinguished career as a special education para at Everitt Junior High from 1982-2005.
In her early years, Lee was an avid equestrian, competing in jumping competitions throughout CT. She was also an enthusiastic reader throughout her life. Lee was a devoted mother who had a love of music. She particularly enjoyed watching her son Vohn’s jazz performances at Dazzle in her later years and attending her son Derek’s photography shows.
Lee’s memorial service will be April 25, 2026, at 11am at Olinger Funeral, Cremation, & Cemetery at 7777 W. 29th Ave in Wheat Ridge CO. Please consider a donation to your favorite charity in Lee’s memory in lieu of flowers.
