Arthur George Rogers

Arthur received his Bachelor of Science Degree Cum Laude from the State University of New York, Oswego in 1952, then he received his Masters in Education from the State University of New York, Buffalo in 1962. He attended other educational institutions; S.U.N.Y. in Fredonia, University of Maine, Syracuse University, S.U.N.Y. Buffalo, and Hofstra University.

He was a member of the Phi Delta Kappa, Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities, Niagara Falls Teachers Association, New York State Teachers Association, National Education Association, International Reading Association, Niagara Frontier Reading Council, Educators Service Club, and the Schoolmasters Club.

His teaching tenure included; Seventh Grade in Canastota, N.Y. 1952-1954, Sixth Grade in Newark, N.Y. 1954-1956, Fifth Grade in Niagara Falls, N.Y. 1956-1958, Sixth Grade in Niagara Falls, N.Y. 1958-1968, Junior High School Reading in Niagara Falls, N.Y. 1968, Adult Basic Education Teaching in Niagara Falls, N.Y. 1965-1968, Home Tutorial Teaching to Handicapped in Niagara Falls, N.Y. 1968, Summer School Teaching in Niagara Falls, N.Y. grades 3-5, Director In-Service Reading Seminar for teachers grades 4-7 in Niagara Falls, N.Y., Adult Education Reading Consultant in Niagara Falls, N.Y. 1969, and the Member Reading Guide Development Committee in Niagara Falls, N.Y..

Arthur is survived by his wife Gertrude L. (Trudy) of 58 years. Arthur and Trudy were married on June 12, 1954 in Auburn, New York. Arthur is also survived by his loving family; daughters Deborah A. &(David) Fending, and Donna A. &(Paul) DiaPaul, sons Arthur W. &(Donna) Rogers, and Douglas A. &(Kathy) Rogers, grandchildren; Meredith Rogers, David A. Fending, Dean P. Fending, Zachary DiaPaul, and Alaina DiaPaul.
