Left us September 9, 2011.
Barbara was a historian, avid birder, naturalist and master gardener, but most of all, a loving wife, mother & grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Glenn, children Lori, Kathy, Karen and Glenn, as well as 10 grandchildren. A Denver native and life-long teacher both in and out of school, Barbara left a legacy of environmental stewardship. She introduced hundreds of children to the beauty of the Colorado outdoors through her dedicated work with Roxborough State Park and helped shape the lives of many others during her 20 year employment as a teacher with the Cherry Creek School District. As an early member of Historic Denver, Barbara was involved in the restorations of the Molly Brown House and 9th Street Historic Park, and was active throughout the years with many other organizations, including Audubon. A love of discovery took her and Glenn to many far corners of the earth.
She kept her sense of humor and gratitude for a life well lived to the very end, and was deeply loved by her large family and many, many friends.
Private services and internment to be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
