

Betty Lou Lopez (Cordova) was born May 11, 1938 in San Acacio, Colorado to Salomon Cordova and Pearlina “Pearl” Cordova (Medina), the second of nine children born to Pearl. Later in childhood, Betty and her family moved to Denver, Colorado where she met Frank Lopez. Frank and Betty married on January 15th, 1956 in Raton, New Mexico and happily raised a family in Denver, Colorado. Betty entered into eternal life on September 7, 2023 in Fort Collins, Colorado.
A lover of travel and the outdoors, Betty and her family enjoyed countless adventures, including long nature walks, Caribbean cruises, trips to Mexico and the Hawaiian Islands, and annual camping adventures that included visits to National Parks, camping, and water skiing. Betty doted on her children and grandchildren and was renowned for always be prepared for any situation that could occur on a vacation.
Betty is preceded in eternal rest by: husband, Frank Lopez; son, Ricardo Lopez; granddaughter, Cameron Shelton; father, Salomon Cordova; mother, Pearl Cordova; sister, Joyce Gomez; brother, Joe Guerrero; brother, Carlos Guerrero; brother, Randy Guerrero; and brother Frank Walsh. She is survived by: brother, Gene Cordova; sister, Brenda Siebert; sister Noreen Guerrero; daughter, Deborah Lopez; daughter, Laura Higgins; grandson, Aaron Lopez; granddaughter, Amanda Lopez; grandson, Ricky Lopez; grandson, Tyler Shelton; and ten great grandchildren.
Always present and supportive of family, Betty was passionate, thoughtful, committed, had an undeniable zest for life. Those who knew her well, will miss her clever quips and loving nature. Betty will be always loved and dearly missed.
