The family of Betty Mae Sanford announces her peaceful passing on February 11, 2025, at the age of 94. Betty was born on May 5, 1930, and her life was defined by creativity, devotion, and a loving spirit that touched everyone around her.
Betty was the beloved wife of Theodore C. Sanford, her high school sweetheart, whom she married on August 21, 1949. Together, they formed a dedicated partnership: while Ted served in the Navy Reserves, worked tirelessly for the Union, and performed as a Shriner clown, Betty provided unwavering support—sewing costumes, painting Ted’s carved creations, and adding her own artistic touch to every project they undertook.
A devoted mother to Kathy, Eric, and Steve.,Betty also took immense joy in being Grandma to her two grandchildren, Stephen Jr. and Kulin, as well as her five great-grandchildren, Christopher, Caleb, Cameron, Ryan, and Megan, and one great-great grandchild, Shiloh. She was known for her quick wit, captivating storytelling, and the gentle encouragement she offered to those she loved.
Betty’s life will be honored during a memorial service on February 24, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. All who were touched by her kindness and laughter are welcome to join in this celebration of her remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting Betty’s lifelong spirit of generosity.
Betty will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to family, her lively sense of humor, and her artistic passions shared side by side with Ted. May her memory live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
