July 1, 1942 – October 6, 2021
Bonnie Jean Montgomery, of Westminster, Colorado, passed away on October 6, 2021 due to complications from cancer and sepsis. At the time of her death, her family was caring for her. Bonnie was born and raised in San Jose, California where she attended Campbell High School in Campbell, California. It was during high school that she met her future husband, Dan in 1958. Right after high school in 1961, she and Dan were married. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past July.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Montgomery in 1962, her granddaughter Emily Jean Hoover in 1991, and her parents, Sal and Mary Fanara of San Jose, California. She is survived by her husband Dan Montgomery of Westminster, her daughter, Lori Hoover (Dave Hoover) of Lakewood, granddaughter, Amanda Hoover (Chris Reed) of Lakewood, and her brothers, Dean Fanara (Tju-Tju) of Elk, Washington, and David Fanara of Morgan Hill, California. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
After raising her daughter Lori, Bonnie became the dedicated babysitter for her granddaughter, Amanda. Lori and Amanda were her two greatest treasures in this world. Nothing gave her greater pleasure. Bonnie also found and made time over the years to manage an apartment complex , sell real estate, manage a local, neighborhood golf course, and devote her time to Meals on Wheels delivering meals to those in need. Bonnie was a rock star to those who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. But she will never be forgotten. We love you B.J.
Following her wishes, Bonnie will be laid to rest at Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery during a private graveside ceremony.
