

Cal graduated from Fort Collins High School and the University of Colorado at Boulder School of Pharmacy. He was a member of Acacia Fraternity. Cal married his college sweetheart Barbara Brown in Wichita Falls, Texas.
He was a resident of Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Cal owned & operated Ridge Drug in Wheat Ridge and later worked as a Pharmacist for Penny Saver Drug & Kmart Pharmacy.
Cal was an award-winning artist and a Signature Member of the Colorado Watercolor Society and the Pastel Society of Colorado as well as numerous art guilds. He was a member of the Georgetown Gallery (Georgetown) and Majestic Art Gallery (Idaho Springs).
Cal’s interests included: sports, travel, gardening, theater and art. He was a member of Kiwanis for 57 years and the CU Buff Club.
He is survived by his wife (Barbara) of 62 years; son Michael (Risa), grandchildren Travis (+ great grandson Evan), Cherie, and Taylor (Lindsay); daughter Lynda (Dale) Hempstead, grandchildren Curtis and Meghan; and his dog friend Riley. He is also survived by numerous cousins, a nephew and multiples nieces, and sister-in-law Lynda Johnson of Washington state.
Cal was preceded in death by his parents (Charles and Florence) and his brother Charles and brother-in-law Barry.
A private interment was held; due to COVID-19 restrictions, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
