Carl Anthony Santorno passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025, at the age of 82. A devoted family man, skilled entrepreneur, and lover of the great outdoors, Carl left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Born on September 2, 1942, to Toney and Josephine Santorno, Carl was the eldest of two sons. He grew up in North Denver alongside his younger brother, David, where he attended school and built lifelong friendships with his many cousins and neighborhood friends. At 17, Carl proudly enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Upon returning home, fate led him to the love of his life, Nita Kay. The two were inseparable and married on September 12, 1964. Together, they built a beautiful life, raising two daughters, Gia and Dina.
A natural-born leader and master of many trades, Carl, along with his father, Toney and brother, David, owned and operated a successful machine shop for over 50 years, employing and mentoring countless individuals throughout his career. He took great pride in sharing his knowledge with the many young people who looked up to him.
Carl had a zest for life and a passion for the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, always eager for the next great adventure. He was also a die-hard Denver Broncos fan and longtime season ticket holder. Sundays in the fall were spent tailgating, entertaining friends, and cheering on his team with unwavering enthusiasm. Known as the life of the party, Carl never met a stranger—his kindness, humor, and generosity made him a friend to all. He was always willing to lend a hand, making a difference in the lives of so many.
Carl was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nita; his parents, Toney and Josephine; and his brother, David. He is survived by his daughters, Gia (Todd) and Dina (Tim); four cherished Grandchildren, Taylor, Zachary (Farron), Zeph (Haley), and Darbi; Great-Grandson, Evren; Sister-in-Law, Laurie; Niece, Nicole (Josh), Nephew, Devon (Kendall) and Great Nieces; Addison, Elliana and Kylie who brought him endless joy.
Carl’s legacy of love, hard work, and laughter will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known him. His presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
