Carol Anne Gibbons

September 2, 1943 - February 8, 2017

Carol was born in Denver, Colorado on September 2nd, 1943 to John and Florence Lantzy. They lived in a little house off of 43rd Sheridan Boulevard where she grew up with her older sister Florence Kunze. Carol attended Holy Family in Denver and loved to go to Lakeside swimming pool. She met her husband, Thomas Gibbons Sr. through her older sister and they quickly hit things off at the Scotchman over a hamburger and fries. They married August 25th, 1962 when she was twenty years old after Tom completed his term in the Navy. They bought their forever home in Arvada and within 10 years had their four children: Cathy, Tommy, Tim, and Tony. After they were grown, she began her career at the Denver Broncos Ticket Sales/Gift Shop. Sports were everything to her, she lived for Sunday Denver Bronco games and any NASCAR race. Once her grandchildren were born (Brian, Dominic, & Calissa Carelli; Lanaya and Leandra Gibbons; Reese and Marlo Gibbons) they became the highlight of her life. She retired from the Denver Broncos after 26 years. The season ticket holders and her co-workers left a large footprint on her heart, as she did theirs. Carol will be dearly missed by all of her family, friends, and co-workers along with every person and animal that was ever in her presence.

She is survived by her children Cathy (Rick) Carelli, Tom Gibbons, Jr., Tim Gibbons and Tony Gibbons; grandchildren Brian Carelli, Dominic Carelli, Calissa Carelli, Lanaya Gibbons, Leandra Gibbons, Reese Gibbons, and Marlo Gibbons, and her beloved sister Florence Kunze. Her parents John and Florence Lantzy and her husband Tom, preceded her in death.

Celebration of Life will be Sun. Feb. 12 at 2:00pm at Olinger Crown Hill. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Tom, at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in a private ceremony.
