Carolyn Marie (Burg) Goossen, 74 of Westminster, Colorado passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020. She was born on August 22, 1946 in Denver, Colorado and is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Mina (Grull) Burg.

She was a registered nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital and later at in the OB-GYN department at Lutheran Medical Center. She married her husband, Simon W. Goossen on June 24, 1967 and were married for 53 and a half years. They spent their many years together living life to the fullest through simple pleasures. She was an avid collector and enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting, reading, puzzles, attending church, worshiping with Gaither, and enjoyed watching football, baseball and hockey. Many afternoons were spent watching the Cubs play baseball until the Rockies became our home team. Precious memories were created in the kitchen making cookies together with her daughters which were later shared with neighbors and friends. She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and aunt who centered her life around her family. She reminisced often about family trips to Hawaii and Glenwood Springs and cherished every moment spent together. Family traditions were held near and dear to her heart. Carolyn was a beautiful person inside and out and will be missed immensely.

She is survived by her husband Simon W. Goossen, four daughters: Karen (Trever) Hiatt, Kristen (David) Masterson, Keri (Peter) Battreall, and Kathi (Christopher) McGuire, her sister Marilyn Keller, her seven grandchildren: Nathan, Nicole, Emily, Ryan, Cole, Jacob, and Miller as well as many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held with family and friends at a later date.
