

Charles E. Forrest 5/28/1929 - 11/9/2014, was born in Lafayette, Colorado. He was the son of Howard and Leola Forrest. His siblings were Bill, Ruth and Don. Charles married Patricia Putney on February 18, 1954. They celebrated 60 years together this year. The couple had 4 children, Janis, Rich, Susan, and Sandy; 10 grandchildren: Ryan, Ben, Sheena, Nicki, Blake, Matthew, Ashley, Shelby, Kevin, and Lindsay; 3 great grandchildren: Beau, Kylie, and Chase.
Chuck was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in 1949. He played 2 years of minor league baseball before being drafted in the United States Army in 1951. He served 2 years in active duty, followed by 2 years in the Reserves. After being honorably discharged, he returned to play a 3rd season of baseball.
He was a lifelong entrepreneur. He owned multiple businesses over the years including a service station and concrete foundation company.
His hobbies include, camping, fishing, hunting, bowling and golf. He loved playing cards and enjoyed light gambling as well as tinkering.
Family was everything to Chuck. He loved coaching and spectating his children and grandchildren at sporting events throughout the years. He loved to watch his Colorado Rockies baseball and old westerns.
Chuck was one of the most unselfish men you could ever meet. He worked extremely hard to provide for his family. He was always there for advice, and to give words of wisdom. Even though we have lost the head of our family, we are all blessed to have had him in our lives. We all hope that we can live as full of a life as he did. He will be missed greatly and remain in our memories forever.
