Cody Nicoli Treston-Pastore was born on September 3, 1991, in Denver, Colorado to Sera and Nick. Cody attended Holy Family Grade School from Kindergarten through fourth grade, and then transferred to Jefferson County Open School, an experiential learning program, where he completed his public education and graduated from high school in in 2009. During his high school career, Cody participated in a record-making 28 trips, which took him to many places including Alaska, Costa Rica, the Boundary Waters, and many other locations within the United States. Throughout high school Cody was involved in the Archaeology Program, which travels to the Navajo lands in Arizona to document artifacts and scribes in various canyons for the Tribe. At graduation he received multiple scholarships to attend Prescott College in Arizona. During the summer between high school and college, Cody worked for the U.S. Forest in New Mexico with a very close friend, Brett. During this time Cody lived with Brett, Michelle and Dove, who were his second family.
After one year at Prescott, his yearning for home and family brought him back to Colorado. His love of the outdoors and snow sports led him to a career in the ski industry, first at Loveland as a "Liftie" and then at Copper Mountain as a snowmaker, trail crew member, groomer and lift mechanic. His passion became snowmaking, and he was happiest at the top of a mountain making snow. Cody was loved and admired by everyone he worked with or encountered. Recently, he was promoted to foreman, at the request of his fellow crew members.
In addition to snowmaking, Cody loved soccer, wolves, travel, camping, and music, including punk rock, country, rap, and rock and roll. Cody loved exploring and living life on his own terms. Cody is remembered as a kind-hearted, caring young man, who was always available to help family and friends. He was beautiful, both inside and out, and his smile could light up a room.
Cody leaves behind his loving family, including his mother Sera, his father Nick, his younger brother Jackson, younger sister Grace, younger brother Tate, sister-in-law Crystal and nephew Nicoli, as well as grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many other extended family members. Cody was preceded in death by his grandmother Linda Pastore and several great-grandparents. Cody was loved by all and will be missed by everyone he touched.
