I just found out through an old classmate (UT). I had no idea. I'd been trying to find him on Facebook, even. I admired him so much, his kindness, his drive, his swing dance. Even though I was 10 years his senior, I looked up to him. I even sat in on one of his language classes (German). He was such a great guy, a truly wonderful and sweet guy.

Some of my earliest memories of college include Daniel.  In ROTC he was a mentor and outside he was a friend.   I'm saddened to here of his passing.

Daniel I still can't believe you're gone. I'll miss your friendly smile, and our talks. I hope you're resting in peace and that you are happy.

Rest easy old friend.  You were always great helping me as new member of Rangers in ROTC.   I am saddened to hear about your passing.   Sending thoughts and prayers you and your family.

Dan was a great mentor to us in ROTC at UT.  He taught me how to run downhill, faster anyway!  Prayers to his family, he'll be missed. Matthew 5:4

Daniel was a delight to be around.  I dropped out of college, but was in ROTC that freshman year.  That's long enough to know Daniel and remember him 14 or so years later.  He was not on my Facebook, but I remember him clear as day.  What a great loss.  Prayers for you and your family.

You will be missed Daniel. I will always remember you as a great man.

Koren was an amazing man and this saddens me greatly. He was my land navigation partner in the Longhorn Battalion and we made an awesome team! I loved learning from and serving with him.

Daniel was one of my first college friends and never failed to be a friend to me over the years. He was the quiet hilarious guy who made every word count. His freshman year Halloween costume was epic.  He will forever be cherished in the hearts and memories of all of his fellow Longhorns.  Rest easy Brother.
