It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Demian (Richard) Smith. Born Ricky Allen Smith, May 16, 1963 in Denver, Colorado. A Denver native who attended Denver West High School and The University of Colorado, Denver earning his bachelor of science in political science, pre-Colombian Archaeology & Spanish literature. Capping off his educational journey with a Juris Doctor from the Sturm college of Law at The University of Denver. Demian practiced law for thirty years with a focus on assisting marginalized communities. He devoted much of his life to being a student and teacher of the philosophy of G.I. Gurdjieff. An epicurean of many things, he loved art, cars, and furniture. He will be remembered as empathetic, inquisitive, adventurous, and a life long student.
He is survived by his children Mereca and Demian Mallo-Smith; and his three grandchildren. He will be remembered in the hearts of many.
