

Donald Ray Drommond , loving husband, devoted father and friend, passed away on July 24, 2015 at the age of 86. He will be remembered by those who knew him for his good nature, a great wit and sense of humor. He enjoyed gardening, a good steak dinner and cheering his favorite team (the Broncos!), and his morning coffee. Donald was born in 1929 in Wray, Colorado, the only child of Selma and Orval Drommond. He graduated from Wheat Ridge High School (Class of ’48) where he met his wife and was quarterback on the football team and class president. Don worked at Dow Chemical/Rockwell International for 39 years. He started as a pipe fitter and ended his career as a supervisor. He was a long time resident of Wheat Ridge where he raised his family and was involved in community and Kiwanis club. He recently resided at Wind Crest Senior Living Facility in Highlands Ranch where he enjoyed his final years and made many new friends that enriched his life. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred A Drommond, of 56 years. He is survived by his daughters Patricia Schmidt (Steven) and Janet Traylor (Frank), his grandchildren Sandra Brannfors, Neal Schmidt, Marcie Nadeau and Jennifer Birchfield and 4 great grandchildren. Grave site service and burial will be held on July 30, Thursday, 2PM at Crown Hill Cemetery located at 7777 West 29th Avenue, Wheat Ridge Colorado, 80033.
