A much-loved husband, father, brother, son, Donald Leroy Ritchie passed away in Lakewood Colorado June 30, 2019 at the age of 73 and was born July 22, 1945 in Denver Colorado to Marvin Leroy Ritchie (Deceased) and Marie Katherine (Rietz) Ritchie (Deceased). Donald was married to Roxann Pauline Satriano of Welby, Colorado on June 24, 1967. They had a son Ryan Vincent Ritchie (Deceased) on April 20, 1977. Ryan was married to Lisa (Himes) Ritchie on October 8, 2008 giving Donald two grandchildren, Evan Leroy Ritchie born July 11, 2005 and Tara Marie Ritchie born March 24, 2009 all of Colville, Washington. He is survived by his brother Melvin Edward Ritchie, married to Barbara Ann (Greene) Ritchie of Lehi Utah and sister Deniese Barbara Madore, married to Norm Madore of Amherst, Virginia. He is also survived by his Aunt Betty Jane (Greenemeiere) Rietz of Denver, Colorado.
He has 8 Cousins; Ralph Douglas Corbin, Mary Ann (Dingle) Cherry, Gerld Dingle, Cheryl Lee (Dingle) Wiese, Eileen Ann (Rietz) Nelson (Deceased), Jane Alice (Rietz) Gonzales, Jeanette Lynn (Rietz) Hamilton, Mary Agnes (Rietz) Keller. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and wonderful friends.
He spent his younger years playing his accordion and attending many accordion contests. He then met Roxann and spent many years roller skating with Roxann and running the music at the roller-skating ring and video-taping all roller-skating contest across the United States. He also spent a good number of years hunting and fishing with his father and brother. Loved to tie flies to fish for the big ones.
Crypt side service will be Friday, July 5, 2017 at 8:30am in the Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery Tower of Memories. Memorial service will be Friday July 5, 2017 at 9:30am in the Olinger Crown Hill Pavilion of Reflection. Followed by a DOVE RELEASE given in Don’s memory by Friends of Retired Greyhounds.
