

Doris Jean Rogers was born March 28, 1927 to Thomas Carpenter Rogers and Harriet Grace Edwards in Butt, Montana.
As a girl in Butte, she was active in the Methodist’s Church Youth Group, and Camp Fire Girls. She was a member of the Order of the Rainbow for Girls, took piano lessons, and ballroom dancing.
Doris went to Montana State College in Bozeman, Montana, graduating in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics. At MSC she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, and the Montana State College Spurs.
Doris married Kenneth Brown Rennick on July 10, 1949 in Butte, Montana. Kenneth worked for the USGS and would be transferred every few years. They first lived in Billings, Montana where Doris taught Home Ec. at the Billings High School. 1951 had them living in Alazada, Montana for 9 months, their first child Thomas was born in Belle Fourche, South Dakota which was the closest hospital. They returned to Billings, Montana where Janet was born in 1953. From there they moved to Casper, Wyoming in 1958, then to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1965, and in March of 1968 the family moved to Lakewood, Colorado.
Doris and Kenneth were active in Phillips Methodist Church, golfing, bowling and traveling with family and friends.
Kenneth passed away October 14, 1981 in Lakewood, Colorado.
Doris’ up bringing taught her the value of Family, hard work, honesty, loyalty, Love of God, and being active in her community. After Kenneth’s death, Doris went to work and became the Manager of Super Yarn Mart until its closing. Doris played a major role as a volunteer with the Meals on Wheels program. She was an active member of the church, quilting group, pinochle group, bowling, golfing, member of the Grange, and being a Grandmother. She loved traveling and being with her family and many friends.
After having health issues in 2017, she moved into a senior living center in Columbia Missouri where her daughter Janet’s family lived.
Doris is survived by her son Thomas (Georgena) of Cortez, Colorado, daughter Janet (George) of Columbia, Missouri, 4 grandchildren; Jason, Amelia, and Nathan Tegerdine, and Kenneth Rennick. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Marjorie Rogers, numerous nieces and nephews along with their families and many dear friends.
