She died on September 27, 2019 in her home of natural causes with her daughter Betty at her side.
She was the third of four children born to Jessie Hislop Thomas and Albert Bruce Thomas.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Susan Kay Chesney and Betty Herron Gleaton, her sisters Mary Kay Fleming and Helen Montgomery, five grandchildren, Megan Ricci, Sarah Pflieger, Sommer Chevalier, Brant Gleaton and Cameron Goodell and nine great- grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Charles Herron, her son, Charles Vernon Herron and her brother Everett Thomas.
