

FISK, ELIZABETH J. (Betty), 1938-2016, of Mead, CO. Betty passed away March 18, 2016, from cryptogenic organizing pneumonia, heart and kidney failure. She was born in Denver, CO on April 20, 1938, to Tom and Essie Weber.
Betty grew up in Arvada and, in 1956, married her high school sweetheart, Harry Fisk, who survives her. They were married over 59 years. She left four children: Eileen Fisk, Denver, CO; Clayton Fisk, Liberty Hill, TX; Eric Fisk, Pine, CO; and Rebecca Smith, Littleton, CO; two grandchildren, Jenn Onstott, Commerce City, CO, and Tyler Fisk, Denver, CO; and one great grandchild, Ian Onstott. She is survived by sisters Patricia Moller, Charlotte Ondeck and Margaret Kelly. Sister Mary Lou Galileo, preceded her in death.
Betty and Harry lived in Arvada for 67 years. They also lived in Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, and Wheat Ridge. Betty worked at Douglas Aircraft and Paramount Productions as a secretary, in the Jeffco schools as a teacher's aide, and at Veldkamp Flowers.
She was an accomplished gardener and floral designer, wrote children's stories, built museum-quality doll houses, created beautiful ceramics, assembled complex picture puzzles and read many books, in addition to raising her family and maintaining an immaculate house and gardens.
Betty was characterized as a sweet and loving pragmatic lady who fully enjoyed her family and friends. She had a love of life and was courageous to the end.
Funeral services Wednesday, March 23, 2016, 12pm in the Chapel of Peace at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary, 7777 West 29th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, CO, 80033. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
