

Elsie Jane Aldinger, age 92, of Westminster Colorado, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2015, at St. Anthony North Health Campus. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2015, and services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Crown Hill Mortuary and Cemetery, 7777 W. 29th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, CO. Burial will follow at the Cemetery and a reception will follow at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, 10828 N. Huron St., Northglenn, CO 80234.

Elsie Jane Fast was born on March 19, 1923 in Emmet, ND to Joseph and Emma (Schmitcke) Fast. She grew up in Emmet and was married to Alec Aldinger on October 19, 1941 in Sidney, MT. They resided in Coleharbor, ND, Sand Point, ID, and Garrison, ND from 1941 to 1955, at which time they moved to Colorado.
While in Colorado, Elsie was employed by Lakewood Drapery, Clear Lake Junior High, and later at the Rocky Flats Plant for ARA Services and then Rockwell International, where she retired in 1988.
Since 2011, Elsie was a resident at Keystone Place at Legacy Ridge. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards and bingo, exercising, and participating in other activities at the assisted living facility. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, AARP, the Union at Rocky Flats, and the Rocky Flats Homesteaders retiree’s organization.
Elsie is survived by her children: Beverly (Jim) Lutz, Joyce (Rodney) Summitt, and Jim Aldinger; four grandchildren (John and Jeff Summitt, Julie Swankowski, and Ethan Aldinger); two step-grandchildren [Mark (Karen) Lutz and Carrianne (Michael) Zimmerman]; eight great-grandchildren (Alex, Shawn, Zachary, and Megan Summitt, Andrew and Kathleen Swankowski, and Addison and Aurora Summitt), and two step-great-grandchildren (Elizabeth and Nicholas Lutz). She is also survived by her brother, Luke Fast, who will be 100 years old on October 4th, and her sister, Mary Bayer, who will be 87 years old on August 11th, and by many nieces and nephews.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband (Alec Aldinger), her son (Rodney Aldinger), and the following siblings: Joseph Fast, Jr., David Fast, Albert Fast, Benjamin Fast, Reinholt Fast, Frankie Fast, Jake Leo Fast, Kate Fast, Bertha Fast, Lydia Hummel, Emma Ulrich, Annie Schafer, and Freda Hoppe.
