Frederick Raymond (Ray) Muse was born on 12 March 1933, in Denver, Colorado to George Owen Muse and Charlotte Virginia Hart. As a child, he moved with his family to Albuquerque, New Mexico, and lived there for a few years prior to the start of World War II. After the events of December 7th, 1941, his father joined the US Army and was stationed in the Pacific. Ray and his older sister, Georgia, returned with their mother to the Elyria neighborhood of Denver and lived with Ray’s grandparents. Ray enjoyed playing softball and basketball in high school. Prior to graduating, he enlisted in the US Army and served in Germany for several years. After returning from Europe, Ray lived with his mother until her death and then lived alone. Ray enjoyed jogging and bike riding well into his 70s. Georgia returned to Denver and lived just two streets away from Ray. They enjoyed attending Rockies baseball games, shopping, and visiting together. Failing health required Ray to move to Hallmark Nursing Center where he received outstanding care for several years. He died on October 4th, 2025, in Denver, Colorado at the age of 92.
He is survived by his niece, Gail Charlotte Clark of Bailey, Colorado, and his nephew, Gary West Clark of Olympia, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Georgia Helen Muse Jenkins Clark.
Ray was a warm and loving uncle. He was kind to all. He got by on what he had and never complained. He will be dearly missed.
A short graveside remembrance and grave dedication will take place on November 10th at Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery, Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
We express our gratitude to the staff at Hallmark Nursing Center and Choice Hospice who cared for Ray with great compassion.
