Born on October 19, 1956, in Jackson, Michigan, Gary spent his early years there before venturing out in his twenties. He lived in various places before settling in Colorado in 1984 - a place that became his true home and playground. He earned his degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology and served as a Nuclear Medicine Technician at St. Joseph’s Hospital for his entire career.
Gary lived a life full of adventure, laughter, and love. Whether hiking on alpine trails, snow-shoeing in the quiet of winter, or four-wheeling through rugged terrain, Gary found his greatest joy in the outdoors, and his love for nature and adventure defined him.
He will be remembered for his goofy and infectious laugh, and his unwavering loyalty and deep care for those he loved. Gary had a gift for bringing humor into every situation and reminding others not to take life too seriously. He was deeply loved, and will be greatly missed.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Jennie (Pizano) Masters, and his brother, Thomas Masters. He is survived by his Colorado family - Karen Getz, Lara and Isaac Barnes, Erica, Peter and Madison Secor, and Rick Powl; as well as his Michigan family, including his sister, Rosalie Blinn, and brother, Louis Masters.
A Celebration of Life will be held, please visit https://www.rsvp.studio/gmm for details.
Those who knew Gary will forever carry with them his adventurous spirit, generous heart, and resounding laughter, and a remembrance that not all those who wander are lost.
